Position Summary:

The accounting duties of this position require monitoring, reporting and advising on Plant Operating Expenses to Plant Leadership and the Network Finance Manager. The HR duties of the position require knowledge of all benefit resources to assist employees with benefit needs, attendance in Corporate HR meetings/trainings, and the ability to assist employees with benefit inquiries thoughtfully, compassionately, and confidentially. The remaining Office Manager duties require various skills in organization, supplies and event coordination, walk-in Employee Service, and the ability to change tasks quickly, as well as managing tasks efficiently despite frequent, though brief, shifts of focus.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Administration

  • Oversee the plant budgeting process. This includes monthly plant financial re-forecast, monthly financial close and variance explanation, monthly journal entry preparation and expense reconciliation, and bi-annual division budget submittal

  • Oversee Inventory Accounting Process. This includes oversite of quarterly cycle-count and annual wall-to-wall count (Raw, Pack, Finished Goods), and assisting Plant Engineering with Annual Fixed Asset Audit

  • Oversee Miscellaneous Accounting Processes: Plant product donations, Revenue receipts, Issuance of Liability Insurance using corporate process

  • Produce monthly plant metric reports for internal and external communication, advising plant staff on trends vs. plan

  • Oversee plant cost-reduction ideation and tracking

  • Oversee Master Data (Bill-of-Material) structure for all products; Includes oversite and backup of Master Data administrator

  • Oversee the hourly production payroll process; Includes oversite and backup of Payroll processor

HR Administration

  • Oversee maintenance of the HR software system (Workday) for plant hourly production employees. This includes support of the plant department managers in position maintenance and discipline records.

  • Manage the STD and LTD leave process from inception of a claim through benefit pay via payroll until return-to-work and conclusion of claim (follows the company process and serves as communication facilitator in the various parts of the process)

  • Primary contact for employees for benefit or policy related questions and directing employees to the appropriate corporate resource

  • Oversee plant Training & Qualification Pillar. This includes interfacing with plant leadership on master RoleMap design and development of resources to backfill vacancies.

Maintain active confidential files: Personnel Files, Medical Files, Applicant-Flow Files

  • Support and coordinate Hiring events including scheduling meetings and interviews, participation on Hiring committee, completion of on-boarding processes, and contributing trainer for New Hire Orientation

Office Administration

  • Oversee/sponsor the Plant Events Committee with the budgeted funding

  • Serve as backup for NSR to include computer, servers, phone, voicemail, truck scale

  • Respond to plant inquiries from the public via phone, walk-in, mail etc.

  • Oversee Mail & Express Delivery Process

  • Oversee Office Supplies Maintenance

  • Oversee promotional gift replenishment

Maintenance of Regulatory Postings

  • Oversee Miscellaneous HR Processes:

  • Facilitate and support use of Bravo! system of recognition

  • Schedule and track administration of flu shots, biometric screenings, and other employee benefit events

  • Administration of the Plant Random Drug Testing Program

  • Administration of the Plant Discretionary Funds & Clorox Foundation Grant Committee.

  • Manage Bereavement consideration for employees

  • Oversee Prescription Safety Glasses and Safety Boot programs

  • Oversee Community Development Grant process

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution

  • 6 months of related Finance and Accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing industry

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred requirements:

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution in engineering, accounting or finance

  • 3- 5 years of related Finance and Accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing industry

  • 1 year experience with SAP or similar enterprise software system.

  • Analytical and communication skills for presentation to senior management

  • System & reporting knowledge

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to multitask

  • Collaborate and maintain working relationships at all levels of the organization.
