Overview of Job Function:

The Quality Assurance Engineer on the Cloud Computing Team is responsible for developing test automation and performing quality assurance of cloud-first, full-stack software products. This includes developing test automation suites for User Interface (UI), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) models, using tools such as Selenium and Jmeter; performing functional, security, and performance tests for ReactJS and Java applications, SQL/NoSQL databases (DBs); identifying and implementing performance improvements; and providing subject matter expertise for customer implementation and cloud platform support. This position works with Product Management, Development, Operations and Client Services teams to develop creative solutions satisfying technical and business requirements. Additionally, the role provides recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality automation software that comprehensively tests complex products in highly concurrent, containerized, cloud-hosted environments.

  • Document and perform functional and security test cases to identify issues and continuous improvement opportunities for UI, API, AI/ML, and DB systems.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate to introduce new technologies, engineering processes, standards, and techniques; and to provide subject matter expertise and technical support to customers and stakeholders.

  • Guide and mentor less experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance.

  • Experience with Front-end UI testing automation, ex. Selenium, Mocha.

  • Experience with REST API/microservice testing automation, ex. Jmeter.

  • Experience with SQL for PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases.

  • Ability to take ownership of assignments and drive to resolution.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment.

  • Aptitude to learn and apply advanced data analytics/visualization, and machine learning to products.

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Java, Spring Framework

  • Experience with Javascript, HTML5, CSS

  • Experience with NoSQL databases, ex MongoDB, DynamoDB

  • Experience with containerized runtime environments: Docker, Kubernetes

  • Experience with Cloud hosting services: AWS, Azure, GCP

  • Experience with Cloud Machine Learning services: SageMaker, Azure Machine Learning

  • Experience with Application Performance Management systems: NewRelic, AppDynamics, ELK

  • Experience with JIRA

  • Experience with Confluence

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
