Salem Health’s Security Department is currently hiring two (2) Dispatchers, one (1) full-time and one (1) part-time to join their team. When you submit your application, please indicate if you are interested in either the full-time, part-time or both!
Your Role With Us:
As the Security Dispatcher, you will provide direct support to field security officers at Salem Health. Operations included, but not limited to security’s dispatching system, answering phones, radio, pager services, video surveillance and monitor alarms/codes in accordance with approved policies and procedures. To ensure accurate & complete documentation of security related matters and maintenance related issues. Secondary functions; provide administrative support and logistics to all Security Officers, Supervisors, Management and Upper Level Management Staff. Will be responsible and accountable for confidential and sensitive information of patient/visitor/staff regarding potential investigations. Will provide internal communications between departments and sections and external communications between City, County, State, and Federal agencies when appropriate. May respond to emergency calls as needed to support security field staff.
Core Job Functions:
Process incoming communications through radio/telephone/email/fax to on-duty field officers in a timely, reliable and accurate fashion. Keep field officers updated on current requests/events as approved by hospital policies and procedures.
Provides support to all patients, visitors and staff concerning parking questions, registrations, lost and found, badge access requests and keeping staff up to date of safety alerts for the hospital.
Be responsible for badge creation and replacement for current staff, new staff and contract staff.
Vendor access control utilizing REPTRAX and issuing contractor access badge.
Enter all information accurately and timely into the security’s computer reporting system in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Utilize and monitor video surveillance system for suspicious activity, criminal mischief or directing aid to someone in need.
Monitors all alarm systems (Infant/access control/duress/intrusion/call boxes) and notify the appropriate personnel per departmental policies and procedures.
File and archive paperwork per department policy and procedure.
High School diploma or GED (equivalent), required.
Previous experience in security, law enforcement or military policy work is strongly preferred.
Experience in healthcare security is highly desirable.
Must be able to successfully complete training in the Professional Assault Crisis Training (ProACT).
Have prior to employment or eligible to obtain after employment a DPSST Unarmed Professional license.
NIMS HICS 100, 200 and 700 on-line certificates preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Microsoft windows and office experience preferred.
