Merck Associate Director, Sales Operations Leader in Salem, Oregon
Our Sales team support our customers by providing clinical information about products, educational information, clinical training programs and resources. We support healthcare providers and healthcare systems meet the goals of the patients in their communities.
Reporting to the Director, Field Operations, the Sales Operations Leader (Associate Director) is responsible for the management and execution of several critical customer facing enablement processes and teams, including:
US Field Sales Communications Solutions
Contract Sales Operations
Operations Specialists Program
Annual Awards and Top Performers Trip
The Sales Operations Leader will forge valuable relationships across the USM, with focus on Field Sales Leadership, Legal and Compliance, Finance, and various USM Headquarter functions. The Sales Operations Leader will manage a team of our company employees (six) as well as an outsourced partner and several vendors to accomplish their responsibilities, which include:
Ongoing development and execution of the U.S. Field Sales rewards and recognition strategy and Top Performers Trip
Business owner of critical Customer Facing communication solutions, including NEXUS, MyComms (bulletin system), and MyRewards site
Support the US Field Sales Teams to ensure operational excellence, compliance and accuracy to all processes
Own, evaluate and create efficiencies within general sales ops functions (including but not limited to business cards, badges, credentialing, office supplies, exhibits, distribution lists)
Develop and grow the Ops Specialists Program
Continue to evolve Contract Sales Operational support in line with the new org structure
Establish meeting services function, develop playbook and provide support for National and Launch Meetings
Work cross functionally with Marketing, Sales, Compliance and Legal to provide meeting and communications support to field sales and marketing colleagues
Take a proactive role in understanding the business and the operational components
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Required: BS/BA
Required Skills & Competencies:
People management experience, preferably in Sales, Sales Operations, Change Management, Marketing or Marketing Operational Support functions
Demonstrated project management skills
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and an ability to build relationships with stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve business goals
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem solving
Ability to drive consistency and equity
Demonstrated high performance under pressure
Experience engaging with leadership at all levels including SVP level
Broad knowledge of the our company organization structure
Vendor management experience, including SLAs, KPIs, contract negotiations and performance measurement
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Process improvement experience
