Responsible for designing, implementing and testing the automation of infrastructure and processes. These individuals are proficient in concepts such as infrastructure-as-code, deployment orchestration and application tooling. There will be specialization in specific areas, such as processes, e.g. CI/CD, or specific platforms, e.g. Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud. These individuals should be well versed in modern agile delivery concepts such as Kanban, Scrum, etc.
Participate in the processes of strategic project-planning meetings. Provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefits.
Create and share operational requirements and development forecasts to allow for timely and accurate planning of projects.
Build automated deployments through the use of CI/CD configuration management technologies, such as Puppet, Microsoft Azure DevOps, and standard repository tools.
Actively troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues before launch.
Deploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the complete set of lifecycle environments.
Automate and manage routine tasks such as logging, monitoring, patching and scaling.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation
Demonstrated project management skills
Advanced experience using Puppet in an enterprise environment
Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
Experience working together with teams from several departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
Professional experience and a high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, WorkFront, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.
Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services
Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management
More than two years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role (or similar role)
Current with industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices, and able to identify the ones we should implement
Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.
Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred
Experience with software engineering and customer experience
Advanced education and application of business analysis techniques and strategy
Strong experience with databases such as SQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis
