JOB PURPOSE This VP of PR is a critical leadership role which manages the strategic planning, on-going development and coordination of all consumer and public relations activities to enhance the company image among the company?s stakeholders? including the investment and marketplace communities where we operate. This role will liaise directly with the CEO, COO, and other executives to accomplish the brand and image of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with executive management at Company in developing the strategy for public relations

  • Develops and implements strategic communications plan to support various offices, team, and the brand strategy.

  • Develops and implements a proactive media plan to support the business goals and marketing efforts

  • Oversees issues management and works collaboratively with National Issues Management

  • Plans and manages the annual Public Relations event calendar, including consumer conferences and road shows, the annual shareholder meeting, and quarterly earnings announcements

  • Manages the internal and external Public Relations activities, acting as a spokesperson for the Company to introduce, position, and market the company to consumers

  • Coordinates all activities, funding, and partnerships to ensure that the organization is viewed as a civic leader committed to ensuring the economic and social vibrancy of the company

  • Partners with Marketing to promote proactive public relations opportunities as well as acts as the spokesperson to external stakeholders in responding to and mitigating reputational risk

  • Monitors changes in SEC regulations or other legal precedents to ensure a ?best practices" approach to consumer communications

  • Advises executive management about financial and industry trends, shareholder concerns, and competitor actions that may impact the Company

  • Acts as corporate spokesperson responsible for protecting the integrity and reputation of the organization

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years experience in Public Relations and Media Relations

  • 2-3 years experience managing public relations departments

  • Strategic Visioning - ability to provide Public Relations a vision that is aligned with the corporate vision, focused and with a clear line of sight between the area's objectives and the corporate objectives and a vision that is compelling and creates a sense of ownership and urgency.

  • Change Management - ability to continually and effectively prepare the organization for the future while maintaining current success and motivation.

  • Functional Depth and Breadth - in-depth knowledge, appropriate academic credentials, and proven track record in a specific function.

  • Customer and consumer Driven - demonstrates appropriate attention to the customer (internal or external) and consumers, providing superior services

  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making - ability to assess all situations (including problems) using a variety of different skills and resources (such as previous knowledge and experience, information seeking, and analysis).

  • Communication Skills and Interpersonal Effectiveness - the ability to interact and communicate in a variety of ways with a variety of people and cultures. This includes formal and informal presentations as well as listening, understanding, and negotiating.

PREFERRED

  • Cannabis Industry Experience

  • MBA or advanced degree

  • High growth startup experience

  • Experience working in a complex and highly innovative e-commerce company
