Nike Technical Development Manager-Global Football Apparel in Portland, Oregon

  • Bachelor's degree in apparel/textile design, merchandising, engineering, business or a related field and minimum 5 years related work experience.

  • 8 years' relevant apparel or textile industry experience preferred

  • 2 years' additional apparel industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Demonstrated apparel development experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of the apparel development process from inception through production, including but not limited to pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, embroidery, materials and machinery.

  • Proven leadership capability, including ability to inspire, involve, and mentor others within the work group

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to manage a high workload and multiple projects

  • Ability to travel up to 25% including International travel

As our Technical Development Manager for Licensed Tier 2-3 you will manage the Technical Development team on creating unique Game Day, Training & Lifestyle product for our Promo Football/Soccer Assets. You will lead, inspire and manage a team of technical developers who will be responsible for creating Asset specific Promo and Replica product, including sublimation print development – Mens, Womens, Youth, Little Kids & Infants. You will collaborate and influence Design, Product Management, and Manufacturing from initial concept through commercialization to ensure asset product, strategy, performance, craft expectations, sustainability and profitability goals are met.

You will be involved in creating the process and calendars from Asset concept through to commercialization. You will be accountable for your team’s completion of the calendar gates and dates from prototype hand off through to buy ready. You will lead process execution within the category and your team. This includes redefining process / best practices, problem solving and being a resource to team mates and direct reports. You will mentor and coach team mates and direct reports daily.
