Johnstone Supply - Corpor Supply Chain Data Analyst in Portland, Oregon

Johnstone Supply, Inc., the nation’s largest HVACR distribution Cooperative, has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Data Analyst to join our team! This position is located at our corporate office in Portland, Oregon.

As a member of the Supply Chain team reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Data Analyst is responsible for working closely and cross functionally within the cooperative to organize, create, and maintain data for supply chain team initiatives, key performance indicators, and reporting. This role requires in depth analysis of large amounts of data in order to provide recommendations based on the findings while maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality.

This role will provide techincal leadership and training for data collection best practices and analysis across the supply chain team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve, organize, analyze, and maintain data using technology tools such as Excel, SQL, etc.

  • Develop visually appealing visualizations and dashboards of data and process information for various levels of the organization.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business initiatives.

  • Develop and propose new metrics, recommend actionable intelligence to business stakeholders.

  • Support cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of projects and initiatives.

  • Assist in and/or lead process and continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain team utilizing formal project management tools.

  • Serve as a lead for system changes, upgrades, implementations, evaluations, etc. for the supply chain team.

  • Share knowledge and skills for data analysis with the team by training and coaching team members.

  • Serve as a liason between supply chain and IT technical staff.

  • Manage improvement requests and provide leadership for prioritization of those improvements.

  • Perform routine audits of systems and reports to ensure the highest level of performance and accuracy and identify problems and impliment solutions.

  • Cross train with members of the supply chain team to ensure understanding of improvement opportuniites and continuity of business practice and analytics.

  • Special projects or assignments as requested.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in Business, with preference given to a specialized degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, or Statistics.

  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and other data analytic tools (Tableau, VBA, etc.)

  • Advanced systems proficiencies including the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Ability to learn programming languages as needed.

  • ERP experience preferred.

  • Advanced mathematical skills, including statistical analyses.

  • Demonstrated comprehension and skills with descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.

  • Knowledge of supply chain inventory management principles and techniques, including key performance indicators.

  • Advanced proficiency collecting and synthesizing large amounts of data to draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to use systems and tools to stay organized, using a consistent approach, with attention to details.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data and business knowledge to solve problems.

  • Ability to approach work with a strong sense of urgency.

  • Skill in developing effective working relationships with individuals from different organization levels.

  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of product distribution operations.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, get work done and meet deadlines

  • Strong needs assessment skills (listening and interpretation).

  • Has the ability to assess the current processes and work with together to drive continuous improvements in processes – familiarity with continuous improvement principles (lean/Six Sigma is a plus)

  • Formal project management skills are preferred
