Oregon Health & Science University Respiratory Care Practitioner 2 (Relief) in Portland, Oregon
PANDA’s scope of care includes patients ranging from premature newborns to pediatric patients up to the age of 18. PANDA is a specialty transport service for inter-facility transports. PANDA does not respond to scene calls. Patients over 18 are considered on a case by case basis and can only be transported to a pediatric unit. PANDA is accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services (CAMTS).
To provide bedside respiratory care modalities in accordance with hospital and departmental guidelines as ordered by the physicians. To provide pediatric respiratory care and supplement adult care when required. To provide pediatric respiratory care during transport of patients from referring facilities to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
A current, valid Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner's (LRCP) credential issued by the Health Licensing Office for the State of Oregon and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Minimum of an associate degree from a respiratory therapy education program supported or accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association. Current BLS, PALS, NRP and ACLS required at time of hire
Must pass pre-hire physical capacity testing
3 years Pediatric Intensive Care and/or Neonatal Intensive Care Experience required.
For Relief Position: 3 years minimum experience on a neonatal/pediatric transport team, experience must have been within 1 year of application date.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
A.S. Respiratory Care.
Five years of neonatal/pediatric experience.
