Oregon Health & Science University Research Assistant 1 in Portland, Oregon

The INSPIRE Lab at OHSU has a position for an energetic and motivated Research Assistant 1. This position will support several federally funded studies focused on better understanding mental health and substance use during pregnancy and postpartum, and infant and maternal brain functioning.

Specific tasks include:

  • Recruitment of participants and managing ongoing contact with participants in longitudinal research studies.

  • Conducting research study visits with pregnant and postpartum people and infants. Study visits involve clinical interviews and collection of biological samples, including blood draws and urine collection.

  • Conducting MRI scans with infants.

  • Collaborating and communicating as part of a team.

  • Bachelor's Degree / No Experience; OR Associate's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; OR no degree and 4 years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health related discipline

  • Experience interacting with research participants in clinical studies and experience working with patients in a medical care setting

  • Significant experience and a high level of comfort with infants

  • Training and significant experience working with REDCap, Excel, and SPSS

  • Training and skills in phlebotomy and collecting and processing biological samples

  • Training in conducting MRI scans with infants

  • Certification for completion of phlebotomy training

  • Completion of neonatal resuscitation training
