Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for an Prospector Outside Sales Representative (this is non-commissioned position). If you have a love of meeting people and providing great customer service coupled with an interest in contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this is the position for you!

Responsibilities

As a Prospector Outside Sales Representative, you will:

  • Prospecting, finding new customers, develop small contractor accounts and non-traditional business

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new customer base, as well as existing house accounts insuring their satisfaction with our products and services at all times

  • Monitor sales trends and product performance results

  • Continually enhance sales skills and product knowledge in order to promote a professional image in the field

  • Work with other branch personnel to ensure great customer service from the order to the delivery and beyond

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but prior experience in Plumbing Sales within our industry, will be considered. A successful Prospector Outside Sales Rep will possess the following:

  • Residential/commercial plumbing sales background is strongly recommended

  • Not afraid of cold-calling, a strong sales presence, a self-starter; entrepreneur

  • Proven ability to sell and build relationships with customers

  • Must be proactive, innovative and have the ability to drive sales

  • Understands what a ‘sense of urgency’ means to our customers and responds accordingly

  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and handle large sales volume

  • Works well with managers and vendor representatives

  • Willingness to passionately embrace local associations

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Team player with a positive attitude
