Supervisea single program or unit within a program, typically supporting 4-8 individualsin residential settings. Duties are split between providing direct support,professional or program activities and supervision. Within a designatedservice or program, the Program Supervisor ensures that all of the individualswe serve are supported with dignity and respect.

TheProgram Supervisor is responsible to supervise Direct SupportProfessionals. In addition, the Program Supervisor oversees theday-to-day operation of the program including delivery of supports,implementation of person-centered plans, health care, advocacy, customerengagement, regulatory compliance and when applicable, oversight of thephysical environment.

TheProgram Supervisor generally works 8 to 16 flexible hours per week in asupervisory capacity; and provides direct support for the remaininghours. Act as a “go to” person for that program, serving as a mentorto other employees, promoting teamwork, and identifying any training needs. Itis generally expected to visit each shift and all employees one time per month,including where supervising periodic or hourly services.


DirectSupport: Work regularly scheduledshifts as a Direct Support Professional (DSP/Caregiver) and maintain records,program planning, team meetings, compliance, management of individual’s assets,incidents and billing/ utilization.

Health Care: monitor the health and safetyneeds of each individual served, ensuring the highest level of quality care.

StakeholderRelations: Maintain productive andprofessional relations with individuals, families, case managers and otherstakeholders.

Personnel: In partnership with Program Director, supervise all DSPs inassigned program. Assist with recruitment; interview and hire Direct Support Professionals(DSPs) with agreement of the Program Director. Populate and maintain scheduleto ensure that all shifts are covered and overtime is minimized. Assist withonboarding and deliver Orientation and ongoing training needs regarding theindividuals served, program plans, policies, procedures and physicalenvironment. Prepare and conduct annual evaluations for Direct SupportProfessionals, in consultation with the Program Director. Coach employees asneeded, correcting or directing employee behavior where required; may removeemployees in the event of emergency; may recommend and participate in decisionsregarding termination; consult with the Program Director on all matters of discipline.Responsible for employee safety and workers’ compensation within the program;implement and monitor compliance with safety standards. May assist with or leadmonthly program meetings for DSPs; document monthly meeting agenda andattendance.

Financial Management: purchasefood and household items as needed. Review census, attendance information orother required documentation to ensure accurate billing.

Maintenance: ensurecompany and staff vehicles are in good repair as well as ensuring generalmaintenance of the home and work environment.
