Description

As a Product Developer II for Socks, you will coordinate and support the product creation process from initial concept to commercialization and production for assigned styles. For the styles you manage, you will ensure on-time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals. You will collaborate with Design, Category Management, Product Management, Manufacturing, and other Developers to effectively execute on product development goals and deliverables. You will also ensure appropriate development documentation is maintained, including product specs and prototype notes. You will work with Design and Design Studio to ensure data is accurate and complete on tech packs and family files before communicating to the factory. You will review costing documents and work with factory to revise as needed using existing costing tools. You will track and facilitate sampling and prototyping for products. You will also raise and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing to deliver proven and tested product. You will monitor and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements. This role is also responsible for providing support as needed by the development team which can include, but is not limited to: sample facilitation & tracking, sample evaluation, carryover costing and system updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 additional years’ experience in lieu of a degree

  • Passionate about socks development and manufacturing

  • Basic understanding of development process and problem solving concepts and application

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives

  • Basic knowledge of knit manufacturing, socks fitting, yarn types and applications a plus

  • Ability to understand and apply information from product specs, calendars and process documents

  • Ability to manage competing priorities acting as both a developer and support function for a team

  • Ability to create lasting and productive working relationships with internal and factory partners

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Adobe Illustrator

  • Ability to learn and use Nike-specific product creation systems

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
