Responsibilities

Program Overview

Our Crisis Support program serves children and adolescents under the age of 18 who are experiencing a crisis- suicidal, homicidal, physical aggression, or psychosis. The program specializes in working with the client, family, and other systemic key participants to assess the risks versus the protective factors to keep the client and others safe. Crisis Support strives to use the least restrictive environment. The Youth Villages’ Model uses a systematic treatment model where interventions are parent focused bringing change through the family, school, community, and peer groups; training staff intensively in conducting assessment, crisis management, in-home treatment, and respite care.

Position Overview

  • Provide crisis response and thorough, strength-based assessment of children and families in crises in the community and hospital environments

  • Provide and coordinate referrals in the community to ensure the client receives care to target high risk mental health needs

  • Provide ongoing treatment and intervention to maintain the families until appropriate services are secured

  • Attend regular staff meetings and trainings scheduled in your regional office

  • Work non-traditional hours(Overnights & Weekends)

  • Have flexibility in your schedule

  • Documentation that is on-line / mobile is available to you

Additional Information

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance. Community Based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage

Qualifications

Requirements

A Master's degree in a social services discipline is required Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Other degrees will have to be evaluated further to determine if they meet the qualifications. Experience in a clinical counseling or case management setting Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Basic computer knowledge Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
