Oregon Health & Science University PAS Specialist in Portland, Oregon
The major responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, checking patients in and out of the clinic, handling co-pays, prepays, and deposits, assisting patients with survey completion, notifying medical staff of patient flow issues, and escalating urgent or complex issues to the Practice Manager of Patient Flow Coordinator. This position monitors and controls the waiting area for the Spine Center and Orthopaedic clinics, updating patients to the clinic flow. This position supports the visions and goals of OHSU in the pursuit of clinical competency and professional response to clinical needs of the patient.
Six months of work experience in a medical office setting, including high volume direct patient contact; OR one year of work experience in a high volume direct public contact position
Basic computer keyboarding skills including typing of 30-45wpm
Proven record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and successful performance with past and present employers
Knowledge of OHSU admission policies and PAS/authorization policies
Knowledge of PAS procedures and integrated care at OHSU
