Position Overview

Autodesk CI/RE team in Portland is developing chaos testing and performance testing framework using Blazemeter and an internally built tool called AutoBAD. This team is responsible for developing and running game day scenarios with Product Teams in order to define SLO/SLA s and corresponding error budgets for these products.

The intern will join the CI/RE team in Portland and participate as a junior developer. They will be involved with researching the existing best practices (i.e. principlesofchaos.org) and ensure that those are infused in our development lifecycle. The intern will work with Production Engineering to understand chaos testing usage, thoroughly review the chaos tooling code base and its extension points and perform performance testing to ensure scalability. They will also help socialize and demonstrate how best to run game day scenarios as well as exercises in automating the behavior to ensure resiliency in our microservices.

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside other Chaos Engineers, you will:

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand business requirements.

  • Perform analysis of requirements against technical specifications to identify fit/gaps and make recommendations.

  • Work alongside engineers to develop workflows and configure the system to support the requirements.

  • Develop code based on requirements

  • Write documentation on features and instructions on how to use them.

  • Participate as a member of an Agile Scrum software development team.

  • Provide training to application team and developers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good communication skills and writing ability

  • Critical thinking

  • Working knowledge of Jenkins

  • Working knowledge of GoLang programming language

  • Working knowledge of git as source control

  • Some knowledge of development and testing

  • Eager to learn

Internships @ Autodesk

Our summer internship program runs for ten to twelve weeks from JuneAugust 2019. We start interviewing in January and continue to on a rolling basis.
