This position will support the Risk Adjustment Process Team’s efforts to ensure accuracy and identify and mitigate any risks. The coder will gain experience in validating diagnosis coding (ICD-10-CM) for accuracy by review of medical records and claims data. As needed, this position will assist with the record retrieval process.Primary Functions:01. Develop knowledge of HCC coding for both Commercial ACA and Medicare Advantage, including regulatory processes/rules.02. Perform chart reviews to determine the completeness of the data, documentation, and coding.03. Process incoming records according to specifications and established procedures.04. Troubleshoot issues related to medical record reviews and maintain detailed logs of issues encountered and steps to resolution.05. Assist in the development of action plans and training material that may include workflows, education, policies, and system enhancement to promote enhanced learning and compliance.06. Performs other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, or pursuing Bachelor’s degree.
Current Coding Certification (CPC-A, CPC, CCA, CCS) through AAPC, AHIMA or other official coding organization.
Interest in risk adjustment coding, specifically diagnosis (ICD-10-CM) coding.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
Ability to project a professional image and maintain complete confidentiality.
