The Equipment Pool Technician 1 performs routine work in the decontamination, assembly, testing, and distribution of medical equipment, supplies, and instruments in a medical facility.
This is the first level of a three-level series. It is distinguished from the higher levels by the absence of responsibility for performing advanced and complicated sterilization, assembly, and testing of medical equipment, supplies, and instruments. Employees in this level may be training to perform Central Services Technician 2 duties.
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year work experience in any field.

Completion of (or enrollment in) the Sterile Processing Course; OR 2 years job experience in a hospital, clinic, or medical laboratory with exposure to decontamination and cleaning process; OR 2 years handling experience including inventory and stocking of perishable supplies.
