Providence Data Abstractor in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Data Abstractor to the Providence Brain and Spine Institute at Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time, benefited position.
We are seeking a Data Abstractor who will collect, compile and maintain data on all stroke cases diagnosed and/or treated in assigned hospitals. Prepares limited information for analysis and dissemination. In addition, the abstractor will ensure that the stroke data collection is in compliance with the GWTG, TJC and DNV guidelines, that quality issues are addressed and monitored regularly.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Receive queue of previous months discharged stroke patients for Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (PSVMC) and Providence Portland Medical Center (PPMC)
Provide support to other abstractors as needed for Providence Milwaukie. (PMH), Providence Newberg Hospital (PNH), Providence Seaside (PSH), and Providence Hood River Hospital (PHRH)
Inputs information from EPIC into the GWTG database
Assure compliance with GWTG,TJC and DNV guidelines
Run reports on requested hospitals and sends out on a monthly/quarterly basis to the listed staff
Work on and complete requested audits and other reports with other analysts
Participate in quarterly abstraction reliability meetings
Attend monthly PBSI stroke meetings
Process requirement; 90% successful record completion rate
Identify information from various sources and abstracts pertinent data within the framework of the aims and guidelines of the Stoke Registry
Maintain or create process documentation related to job role
Abstract data into neurovascular registry as needed to maintain stroke specific certification
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma -OR- GED
Three (3) years of medical data entry, clerical, coding or like experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree
