The Absence Management Product Owner for The Hartford Group Insurance partners with business stakeholders to define and develop immediate and future technology improvements within absence products. They are directly accountable for working with product management and other absence business stakeholders to define and prioritize business requirements to effectively address technology program priorities while maintaining technical integrity. This role also assists in defining overall absence product strategy and collaborating with Account Management to effectively promote our products. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-managing resource whom will join a fast, innovative, fun agile development team. The individual will be responsible for leading & driving business concepts through the development cycle while working directly with clients to obtain feedback. Key accountabilities include:
Consistently perform analysis and translates business needs to create high-quality Business Requirements and Functional Specifications documentation within specified time frames to solve most complex problems (multiple interfaces with other systems across multiple business units) considering all impacted components from an end-to-end perspective.
Customer proxy and advocate within The Hartford’s Absence business
Oversight of the documentation of Business Requirements across a domain or program.
Lead & drive business concepts through the development cycle and working directly with clients to obtain feedback and mature the application functionality
Lead and collaborate with Business Analysts to consistently analyze and translate business needs to create high-quality Business Requirements and Functional Specifications documentation. This work is completed within specified time frames to solve the most complex problems (ex. multiple interfaces with other systems across multiple business units) and considers all impacted components from an end-to-end perspective.
Ensure that the Business Analysts are effectively supporting IT activities (ex. Support triage meetings, defect resolution, customer implementation)
Contributes, on an as needed basis, to the Application Design and Information Design Model through effective interfacing with application and information architectural resources.Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong experience in the Leave of Absence, Disability products & Agile projects
Ability to work within a very collaborative team as a leader and an individual contributor is a must.
Proven track record in collaborating with business partners to define business requirements and priorities for technology solutions.
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Must have the ability to influence without authority
Must be one or more of the following: Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Professional, or Certified Scrum Master
Minimum of 7 years Business Analyst / Product Owner experience
Minimum of 5 years active Agile Team experience
Minimum of 3 years as a Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Professional or Certified Scrum Master
Minimum of 3 years managerial experience preferred.
Must possess sound knowledge of structured IT application development lifecycles and methodologies inclusive of Use Case tools
Sound knowledge and experience in Agile development methodology
SaFE experience is a plus!
Proven project management skill
Excellent communication skills.
