Responsibilities
Assists the Pharmacist in providing effective drug distribution services to all patients served by Pharmaceutical Services, coordinates the work flow of the Pharmacy and is knowledgeable in the mixing of oral powders, sterile intravenous solutions and compounded items.
Performs timely billing of current patient medications used in the hospital.
Maintains current licensure and certification.
Maintains and files physician order sheets, invoices, and controlled substance records. Controlled substance logs are checked daily as to completeness, and accuracy. Any discrepancies are reported to the Pharmacy Director immediately or a staff Pharmacist in his absence.
Performs similar and incidental duties as assigned.
Demonstrates competency in adjusting interactions and the delivery of care and/or clinical techniques appropriate to address the age specific needs of the patient and/or customer.
Proficient in all areas of the Pharmacy. Is aware of the workload in each area and is willing and able to help when needed.

Qualifications
Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Required Licensure and Certifications: Oregon State Pharmacy Technician registration
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Excellent mathematical skills required for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceuticals; possess a basic basic understanding of hospital pharmacy drug distribution systems including unit dose, IV additive and floor stock distribution methods. Excellent oral and written communication skills for routine interaction with hospital staff, patients and visitors
