We are making our employee & client health and safety a top priority, with all necessary PPE and following strict safety standards that include mandatory temperature checks, we're looking for a Full Time Lead Cook at Lifeways Recovery Center. As the needs of our community have changed LRC has changed with them: - Individuals will no longer be in a bunk bed style unit. - All beds have their own privacy curtain installed that can be removed easily for cleaning. - The Recovery Center has a designated room on both the women's and men's units for infection prevention quarantine requirements. We are posting progress towards our remodel, check back here JOB SUMMARY: We take pride in the culinary creations prepared and served from our kitchen. This position will ensure that our resident's food needs are being met. This will involve carefully planning meals to ensure that they are of a high quality, content and appetizingly presented, and that food safety guidelines are being followed. This position will require the capability of taking directions well, multi-tasking effectively, and must bring a strong dedication and passion to support Lifeway's mission, vision, and core values. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include some or all the following. Other duties may be assigned. Wash, cut and prepare foods designated for cooking. Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items. Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers or griddles. Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee and other drinks. Overseeing food inventory by: Properly storing and monitoring food temperature Rotating dated food items to maximize use and minimize waste Storing food properly ' fresh, frozen, dry, left-overs. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils. Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas. Requisitions food products Checks inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality. Ensures equipment is in accurate working order. Records supply usage for inventory control and accurate reporting purposes. Able to provide quality customer service. Apply healthy decision-making skills. Be self-motivated, reliable, and a strong team player. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job generally has no supervisory responsibilities. However, Lead Cook may give guidance to other culinary employees in their area. May assume lead role as needed.
