CDR Maguire Safety Officer in Medford, Oregon
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary emergency management and engineering firm is seeking Safety Officers qualified according to the National Qualification System (NQS) for deployment on the west coast.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Safety Officer:
Monitors and assesses safety hazards
Develops measures for ensuring personnel safety
Inspects facilities for safety hazards
Participates in developing the Incident Action Plan (IAP) regarding safety implications
Provides safety briefings and distributes safety messages
Monitors incident operations and advises the Incident Commander or center director on all matters relating to the health and safety of emergency response personnel
Stops and prevents unsafe actions during incident operations
Requirements
Physically able to work under disaster conditions
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders
Must submit to and pass a drug test.
Must submit to and pass a background check.
Provide Form I-9 supporting documentation that proves your identity and eligibility to work in the United States
Functioned in this position during an operational incident, planned event, exercise, drill, or simulation within the past five years
Successful completion of the NQS PTB for the NIMS Types 1,2 or 3 Safety Officer, or equivalent AHJ documentation
Experience in incident management in a subordinate position
Satisfactory performance as Strike Team Leader OR Task Force Leader, or supervisory experience equivalent to a Task Force Leader or Strike Team Leader
- Completion of the following is preferred:
IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-100
IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS-200
ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents
ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents
IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction
E/L 0954: National Incident Management System Incident Command System All-Hazards Safety Officer Course
E/G/L 0191: Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface
United States Fire Administration (USFA) 0305: Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Team Course, or equivalent
- Preference for completion of one of the following training:
National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) S-420: Command and General Staff training or equivalent team training.
NWCG S-520: Advanced Incident Management training or equivalent team training.
E/L 0981: Advanced Disaster Safety Officer, or equivalent
- Preference for the following experience
Satisfactory performance as a NIMS Type 3 Safety Officer
Satisfactory performance as a NIMS Type 2 Safety Officer
