Employer is looking to fill 200 Forestry Worker positions. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position from 12-29-2020 to 10-29-2021. Requirements: At least 18 due to travel. 3 months Commercial Brushsaw-Chainsaw experience. No minimum education requirement. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Employer Note: Work sites begin in Medford, Jackson County, OR 97501 at $18.90. Transport provided, designated locale to job site. Work continues into the States of CA, CO, ID, MT, OR, SD, UT, WA.Show proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Drug, alcohol, tobacco free work zone. Based on employer's discretion-cost: Worker may have random drug-alcohol testing during employment: positive test- refusal to abide equals dismissal. All work will be done with employer provided tools, supplies and equipment without charge or deposit. Optional housing available at no cost.Job Duties: Raising and transporting seedlings; sort tree seedlings, discarding substandard seedlings, according to standard charts or verbal instructions. Plant: seedlings-trees. Spray or inject vegetation with insecticides to kill insects or to protect against disease or with herbicides to reduce competing vegetation; enhance growth. Trim trees or other vegetation; cut trees or logs. Fight forest fires or perform prescribed burning tasks under the direction of fire suppression officers or forestry technicians (suppression: such as constructing fire breaks or disposing of brush, lop-scatter), incidental driving and other related Forestry Worker activities as per SOC-OES 45-4011 (onetonline.org). Walk substantially, up to 15 miles per day,also stoop, bend while carrying a pack weighing up to 50 pounds through rough terrain (non-trail). Outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold.Hours: 6AM to 2PM. 40+ (plus) to include lunch break, Monday to Friday. Possible weekend-holiday work. (Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. If overtime is worked, wage is paid at a rate of time and a half per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week.) Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+--), possible downtime and-or overtime. This employer will also comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws pertaining to overtime hours. The worker is guaranteed employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period.Wage: $13.62 per hour up to possible $23.00 per hour, overtime: $20.43 per hour up to possible $34.50 per hour. Wage may vary based on experience and-or location. The wage(s) offered equal(s) or exceed(s) the highest of the prevailing wage or the Federal, State, or local minimum wage.
