This is a regular full-time position to perform advanced secretarial work, specialized clerical office support, and specialized work of an accounting nature for County Clerk and Chief Deputy County Clerk. Duties will include receptionist services, typing, maintaining records, gathering and analyzing information, preparing reports, directing and participating in administrative support work, providing information to, and assisting members of the public concerning multiple department programs, performing a wide variety of technical and clerical tasks which demand considerable understanding of legal terminology, laws, and interpretation of statutes, rules, procedures, and regulations, and other tasks as assigned. The position requires excellent customer service and time management skills, the ability to multi-task, effective problem solving skills, flexibility, and basic computer skills including the ability to learn procedures and computer applications quickly. The successful candidate must be self-directed, detail oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers and the public in a courteous, professional manner and exhibiting excellent communication skills, with frequent interruptions. Preference will be given to candidates already familiar with the purposes and procedures of the County Clerk's Office, local, state and federal election laws, real estate transactions and basic bookkeeping procedures. One year of clerical or secretarial experience at a level equivalent to an Office Specialist II is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and bilingual Spanish language are preferred.
