Oregon Health & Science University Graduate Teaching Assistant- Diversity Assistant in Klamath Falls, Oregon

This position provides support for the NWD project on the respective Campus and coordinates local activities with the NWD statewide grant team. Organizes grant activities in collaboration with the other grant team members on the respective campus.

  • Keep faculty informed and engaged in grant activities.

  • Communicates with trainees’ faculty to monitor academic progress and identify need for additional support services.

  • Participates in selection of grant trainees.

  • Advises NWD trainees.

  • Participates in grant team meetings.

  • Collaborates with other grant team members on respective campus to provide case management of trainees including early identification and referral to support services, selection of mentor and related case management support.

  • Collaborates with Project Manager and grant partners to disseminate recommended teaching/learning strategies and support activities that promote academic success with disadvantaged students to local faculty and staff team.

  • Collaborates with the grant team and partners to develop and implement expanded orientation and support programs for disadvantaged students, including trainees.

  • Bachelor.s in Nursing

  • Member of the undergraduate nursing faculty or graduate teaching assistant

  • Interest in teaching and advising disadvantaged students.

Master's or Doctorate in nursing

Prior experience teaching and advising disadvantaged students

May include travel for trainings, meetings or outreach activities.
