WorkSource Oregon Library Assistant II in Independence, Oregon

Under the General Supervision of the Community Services Director the Library Assistant II is responsible to maintain a working knowledge of all day to day operations of the Independence Public Library and is responsible for performing paraprofessional library tasks in one or more areas of library operation. Responsible for coordination of one or more library functional areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ' DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES An employee in this classification may perform any of the following duties; however, these examples do not include all the specific tasks which an employee may be expected to perform. ' Provide excellent customer service in person, by telephone and electronically. ' Performs circulation, acquisitions and/or cataloging functions, applying basic professional knowledge and techniques of library science. 'Maintain and support public computing resources. 'Public service in person, by telephone and electronically. 'Develops displays and exhibits. 'Prepares schedules, reports, displays and statistics. 'Accessions and processes materials for collection and performs collection maintenance. 'Selects materials for library in one or more collection areas. 'Assists with development and distribution of publicity and newsletters. 'May supervise and schedule the day to day activities of volunteers and assistants. ' Shelve materials on shelves that range from one to 90 inches in height. ' Must adhere to library confidentiality guidelines as developed by the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service.
