$1,000 Sign-On bonus! BILINGUAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT ' CERTIFIED Provide direct patient care and support to the assigned PCPCH team. General duties include patient intake and processing, assisting providers with treatments and procedures, patient instruction and patient education. Facilitate patient triage as a communication liaison between patient, medical provider and licensed nurse. Additional duties include quality control checks, performance improvement, supply stocking, equipment sterilization, patient records management, and patient scheduling. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Read, speak, understand and write proficiently in English. Strong written and oral communication skills - Able to work independently, be self-directed and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. - Able to work in a team environment. Able to forecast immunizations. - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Epic, and other systems - Able to administer PPD Tests - Able to perform EKG's - Able to perform Tympanograms - Able to conduct Snellen's Exam - Able to perform O2 Sat monitoring and administer Nebulizer Treatments. - Able to read and interpret PPD results and initiate appropriate referral for positive results - Able to administer Oral and Injectable medications - Possess understanding of patient flow through the health center and its impact on team efficiency - Able to set up sterile field/procedure. - Competency in INS nursing visit procedure. - Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA regulations - Knowledge of customer service and workplace safety Preferred - Internal locus of control - Expectation to excel and be part of a high functioning team MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education - High school graduate or equivalent. - Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program. - Bilingual English/Spanish. Experience/licensing/certification - A combination of equivalent education and work experience - Achieve Medical Assisting Certification within 6 months from date of hire. - Current CPR certification - Successful completion of OCH credentialing requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working in a medical office environment. - Experience working with low income, multi-ethnic populations. Language skill requirement or preference: Will work with monolingual Spanish speaking customers
