Microchip Technology Engineer II-Facilities in Gresham, Oregon
Description
Microchip has an opportunity for an Engineer II - Facilities (Semiconductor Equipment Installation) at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. Self-motivation and the ability to take ownership of the work performed with a positive, collaborative approach are essential competencies for this position.
Job Purpose
Provide construction project management responsibilities by acting as technical resource and coordinator for process equipment installs, providing input on construction policies and procedures, installation requirements, and equipment installation estimates and budgets
Develop equipment tool design installation packages and size utility services to tools
Coordinate design distribution and design clarification process for contractor bids
Manage and coordinate in-house and contractor resources for equipment install activities
Coordinate construction activities with departments including Production, Equipment Engineering, Facilities Engineering/Operations and EH&S departments
Control project costs through efficient install designs and resource coordination
Provide equipment installation engineering support as needed by participating in utility system checks, hookups, and release to equipment for qualifications and equipment startups
Work with systems containing electrical, mechanical, liquid and gas hazards
Maintain an attitude of willingness to learn, embrace continuous improvement and grow in a team environment
Utilize system maintenance databases- XSite, SharePoint, manage files and documentation supporting tool install activities

Requirements
Required
BS EngineeringOr equivalent
2-5 years of work experience in manufacturing construction or construction project management (semiconductor preferred)
Business computer competency, data analysis and applied problem solving skills
Ability and willingness to learn new engineering skills
Self-motivation and taking ownership of work performed with a positive approach are key competencies.
Analytical skills in evaluating data and problem solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Basic knowledge in equipment and facilities semiconductor specific systems, high purity systems and semiconductor chemicals
AutoCAD skills
Special Requirements
- Must be able climb ladders and work on a multitude of indoor and outdoor surfaces
Critical Physical Requirements
- Able to lift, push, pull 25 lbs, carry 15 lbs, sit 10%, stand 60%, walk 30%; must be able to perform activities that include stopping, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing, working alone, working around others and working in a cleanroom for an extended periods of time. Must have manual dexterity hearing and visual acuity (color distinction, peripheral vision and depth perception).
This is considered a Safety Sensitive Position.
