Umpqua Bank Greater Oregon Com'l Market Director in Eugene, Oregon
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and leading business banking activity, production, and profitability in an assigned market, overseeing a portfolio of approx. $200-500 MM and serving clients with $1--15 million in revenue. You will manage a team of Business Banking Relationship Managers to meet strategic objectives, production goals, and client needs. You'll develop and execute upon market strategy aligned with Bank strategic goals. In this role you will personally produce, but build partnerships (internal and external) to attract business relationships and support production teams. You'll be expected to maintain a personal commitment to the community and be the face of the bank in the market, promoting Umpqua and driving leads and opportunities to relationship managers.
Manage a team of Relationship Managers to meet strategic objectives, production and profitability goals, and client needs.
Responsible for the P&L of an assigned market and management of an assigned portfolio, establishing goals and strategies to meet the strategic aspirations of the Bank.
Maintain and grow a quality Business Banking portfolio by leading prudent risk and portfolio management.
Responsible for developing and nurturing relationships within the community to grow new customers in the market and increase business development opportunities for all Business Banking Relationship Managers. Actively participate in community/market events through organizations and board memberships to function as the "face" of the bank in the respective market.
Develop and implement cross-selling strategies with Bank partners.
Grant credit approvals within delegated authorities as applicable. Achieve satisfactory credit exams. Responsible for credit risk management within the market.
Identify, hire, manage, motivate, and retain top talent. Responsible for the professional development of associates within the assigned market.
Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position, and keep up to date on regulation changes.
Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, a related field, or equivalent required
Master's Degree/MBA preferred
7-10 years prior experience in small business or commercial lending.
4-7 years prior management experience leading a production team and effectively handling employee and customer relations issues.
Experience developing and implementing a market strategy to achieve results/goals.
Excellent relationship management and business development abilities, analytical and problem-solving skills, sales skills, and credit acumen.
Experience directing and leading the activities of a team having overall responsibility for strategic planning, goal setting, budget and performance management.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with executive levels. Interactions may include controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading.
Experience managing and developing others and the ability to build and maintain relationships. Demonstrates a commitment to attracting, motivating, and retaining top talent.
Proven track record of success in developing new clients and business, including prospecting, sourcing and networking.
Ability to communicate effectively with small and large audiences; often includes presentations to customers at a high level (i.e. CFO, CEO, and other Executive levels).
