Minimum/Required Qualifications Graduate degree in STEM, education, or related field. One year of experience teaching adults in workshops or classroom settings. One year of experience mentoring, advising, or coaching (one-on-one, cohort-based, long term engagement). Experience with program management (planning, deadlines, stakeholder engagement, recruiting). Demonstrated knowledge of career, professional or leadership development. Ability to deliver dynamic presentations. Willingness to take initiative and contribute value to a team. A demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and equity through mentoring and teaching practices. Position Duties 35% ' Instruction Provide on campus and online instruction and curricular development for the School of Life Sciences (SLS) professional development courses including but not limited to first, second, and third year experience courses. Lead-instructor for all courses in the Science Professional Pursuits Program (SP3). Provide one-on-one coaching for students in SP3 as needed. Develop and deliver content covering professional development, career exploration, job acquisition skills, and technical development related to STEM fields. Use proven methodologies and pedagogy to develop and deliver content and courses that meet quality standards. Supervise and train graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants. Promote understanding and implementation of best practices, policies, and procedures regarding instructional accessibility, copyright, FERPA (privacy), and information security. 30% ' Program Management Effectively manage and prioritize projects. Anticipate and escalate project issues to supervisor as they develop; provide thorough and detailed quality assurance of all course material; maintain accurate archive of course documentation and departmental tracking documents and provide timely updates/reports for institutional assessment. Oversee all management of SP3, including student recruitment, management, enrollment, and stakeholder engagement. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and internship/experiential host sites.
