Minimum/Required Qualifications B.S/A degree plus two years of professional administrative experience. OR Six years of progressively responsible professional level administrative and human resources management experience. For OSU or OUS candidates, professional level experience is defined as primary responsibility for implementing policies, procedures, and practices and/or primary responsibility for providing administrative support at an advanced level. AND Demonstrated successful supervisory experience; Demonstrate a commitment to anticipating, understanding, and responding to customer needs in a positive, confidential, and sensitive manner; Demonstrated initiative and thoughtful decision-making skills and ability to make independent decisions and to take independent actions; Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to contribute to the success of team and goals; Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, manage multiple projects and tasks; Ability to anticipate the Department Head's response to problems in his/her absence; Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report on activities; Ability to interpret laws, policies, procedures, and regulations and communicate them effectively; Ability to learn complex departmental programs and operations and apply policies, procedures, rules and regulations; Excellent written and spoken English skills w/ability to compose and edit directives, memorandums, and correspondence; Strong interpersonal communication skills to enable collaboration with diverse communities; Demonstrated regard for confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy. Strong track record of positive attitude, customer service and/or program support. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and database applications.
