  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

  • Designs, plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates clinical education programs to advance the Samaritan Health Services (SHS) healthcare teams standards of care. Trains and develops staff through the continuum of orientation, competency assessment and development, and ongoing education. Employs evidence-based practice, tools, theories and advanced skills to improve system-wide patient outcomes.

This position will be assigned to support the ICU and PCU departments in the system; ICU experienced is preferred.

  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

  • Professional Development is a centralized education department serving a multi-site health system. The team specializes in organizational and staff development at all levels with a focus on workforce readiness, advancing clinical excellence, supporting professional development, and building great teams and leaders.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) strongly preferred.

  • Board certification in Nursing Professional Development required within three (3) years of hire.

  • Healthcare Provider BLS required.

  • If appropriate, ACLS and/or PALS required within three (3) months of hire.

  • Five (5) years of direct care nursing experience required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, required.

  • Two (2) years of Clinical education experience, including assessing, planning, implementing, facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating learning activities, programs, and projects, preferred.
