The Graduate School is seeking a Director of Financial Support. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Vice Provost & Dean.

The Director of Financial Support provides leadership regarding graduate student financial support, the development and implementation of new funding strategies for graduate students (with special emphasis on the recruitment of high quality students and under-represented minorities), and tracking of the Graduate School budget. These responsibilities are carried out in collaboration with the Graduate School Dean, Associate Dean and Assistant Dean.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):

Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or related field. 5 years’ experience in budget development and analysis.

Requirements :

Typically requires a master’s degree and significant professional experience in assigned functional area(s): or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated successful managerial and leadership experience.

Minimum of three years of experience in student financial support, academic program administration, or closely related experience.

Demonstrated skills in budget preparation and fiscal management.

Demonstrated skills using complex spreadsheets to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, comparisons, impacts and/or projections.

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control procedures.

Ability to analyze budgetary expenditures for compliance with approved budget.

Demonstrated ability to engage in professional activities requiring a high level of detail and accuracy.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to diverse audiences.

Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse audiences and to engage in practices that support and promote diversity, equality and inclusion.

Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships within the graduate school, the campus community and external stakeholders.

A demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Competence with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.

Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
