UnitedHealth Group is seeking talented individuals for our Senior Pharmacy Technician opportunities. Under supervision of a pharmacy lead, this position performs designated technical and clerical tasks associated with the preparation, labeling and dispensing of medications, including sterile admixtures and pre - packaged or unit dose drugs. In addition, performs designated tasks related to pharmacy quality control, management of pharmacy records, inventory control and preparation of orders for drugs.
To excel in this role, you will need to remain flexible in your approach and be able to work as an effective part of a high performing team.
Completes patient orders by selecting medications as indicated on the patient medication profile; assists in preparing and labeling of intravenous medication orders using proper sterile and aseptic technique
Compounds specialty drug products
Uses aseptic technique when compounding sterile drug products
Completes accurate documentation of items compounded and re - packaged
Reorders inventory as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies
Receives, checks in and restocks medications
Performs quality control activities related to sterile compounding and the clean room per company policy
Works to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, State, Federal, OSHA and other regulatory standards
Follows all department policy and procedures
Answers phones in a courteous and timely manner
Attends to customers in a timely manner and serves as a bridge between the customer and the pharmacist

High School Diploma / GED
Unrestricted State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and a certificate in good standing
1+ years of Pharmacy experience with a knowledge of basic drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use and aseptic technique
You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas, In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
1+ years of pharmacy technician experience
Proficient in aseptic technique and intravenous solution compounding
Home infusion or specialty pharmacy experience
