Job Summary/Purpose:

The Culinary Retail Production Assistant will support retail operations of Cascade Culinary Institute including all or any of the following: CCI Friday Bakery Kiosk CCI Food Truck Elevation Restaurant Cascade Culinary Institute merchandise sales Cascade Culinary Institute Special Events Other Cascade Culinary Institute retail sales activities Job Location is on the Bend Campus.

Terms of Employment: • This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Federal Work Study position • Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed. •Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2020-2021. •Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid. •COCC employees must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed. •The College is NOT able to support Visa applications for this position. Applicants must already be eligible to work in the United States to be considered for this position. • Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.

Essential Functions:

• Customer Service and sales • Marketing and social media • Pricing • Procurement and Inventory management • Preparation, cooking, baking and presentation of culinary and baking/pastry products • Retail presentation (cleaning, product placement, retail organization and design) • POS operation • Sales reports and income reconciliation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate POS system. Ability to count change, track income, and reconcile sales report. Ability to use social media Skills in customer service, counting change, product presentation. Knowledge of culinary and baking and pastry techniques. Knowledge of proper sanitation techniques.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

Working hours are regular, per the established work schedule. Work is performed in an ordinary office, mostly sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under ten pounds for 15 percent of the time. Computer screen is used more than 75 percent of the time. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 202-2021.
  2. Successfully pass a background check.
  3. Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
  4. Current Cascade Culinary Institute Student

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred • Customer service experience • Social media experience • Students in their second year of Cascade Culinary Institute programs are preferred.
