WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science or related field OR two additional years’ experience in lieu of a degree

  • 5+ years' pattern making and apparel development experience.

  • Knowledge of the apparel development process from inception through production, including but not limited to pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, embroidery, materials and machinery

  • Ability to write product specs and advanced construction instructions along with interpreting design intent and offering alternative solutions

  • Ability to act as a technical resource, mentor others and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to excel in a deadline driven environment.

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills with attention to detail and process orientation.

  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and confident using Adobe Illustrator and CAD Pattern Design software. Experience with Optitex/Browzwear preferred.

  • Ability to travel 10% including International travel

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Sr. Technical Designer to join the Jordan Global Apparel team. As our Senior Technical Designer, you will utilize your advanced technical knowledge related to product fit, patterns and construction in order to provide leadership for categories and product groups ensuring consistency and implementing global sizing standards. You will coordinate and communicate progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Senior Technical Developers drive the fit strategy and standards, lead fitting sessions and fit garments with the project team while providing fit recommendations and solutions to issues. You will lead fit and construction from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned styles. A key part of this role is driving processes to on-time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals. You'll also provide technical recommendations to the product creation team to build consistency and help achieve design concepts and category initiatives.

You will work closely to understand the creative vision of the line for each project and translate design concepts to generate 2D patterns that incorporate proportional lines, fit requirements and construction feasibility. You'll represent the design team as needed in follow-up and decision-making, related to aesthetics of assigned styles after each season's prototype review. In addition, you'll create and communicate pattern revisions, incorporating styling and fit change. You will also create and revise Tech Pack's for designated styles; ensuring all appropriate development documentation is maintained including, "product specs" and prototype notes.

The candidate needs to have the energy and interest to work in a fast-paced environment and possess the skills of pattern making & manipulation, construction expertise, digital prototyping along with textile & print manipulation.

You will be reporting to the Tech Development Manager and partner closely with Design, Product Management, Merchandising, Product Creation Centers (PCC), Materials and Manufacturing, to optimally execute on product development & fit goal results.
