Experience leading a team of firmware or systems software engineers
Experience with firmware, device-driver, and kernel-level development
Excellent understanding of hardware design as it relates to operating systems
Proven track record of delivering software aligned with project and program schedules History of setting aggressive yet attainable goals and motivating teams to achieve them
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The Platform Debug Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of an engineering team that is responsible for extending and improving Apple’s SWD/JTAG solutions. This includes interacting with Silicon Engineering to define future hardware debug architecture. Responsibilities: Growing and strengthening an Platform Debug team by hiring and retaining top-tier engineering talent Developing an ambitious, innovative software and release strategy supporting Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod product development Executing against the team roadmap with high quality work on tight schedules Partnering with the cross-functional teams to gather and refine product requirements for Apple’s SWD/JTAG HW and SW debug tools Identifying and vocalizing risk areas during product and technology development Promoting a team culture that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or EE, or equivalent industry experience
Experience with LLDD and/or GDB
Experience developing debug tools
Experience with SWD/JTAG and other debuggers
