WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Math, Operations Research or related field of study. MBA preferred

  • 10-plus years of experience in Manufacturing, Analytics, Business, Finance, or Strategy (6 plus years of experience with an MBA)

  • 4 plus years experience managing teams (2 plus years of experience with an MBA)

  • Advanced excel, visualization software (Tableau) and storylining (Powerpoint) skills required

  • Experience in value stream mapping and continuous improvement

  • Strong project management capabilities to manage multiple project streams and complexity; propensity for thinking through projects in a process-oriented way required

  • Must be flexible, adaptable and resourceful and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity

  • Proven ability to use data to influence decision making

  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communicator with a demonstrated ability to network, influence and inspire

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Materials are key to Innovation and Product Excellence. We have built a new, unified Materials Sourcing and Manufacturing (MSM) organization which will transform our material capabilities, teams, and processes and accelerate our vision to serve every athlete*! We are in need of a new leader who will lead the foundational materials operations offense.

In this role, you will not only develop foundational processes and protocols but also standardize them across product engines and drive continuous improvement. This leader has high emotional intelligence, leads with curiosity and obsesses about driving operational efficiencies and excellence.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

As the Director of Materials Foundational Operations, you will be responsible for driving process improvement and standardization across product engines, defining and evaluating current operations & metrics. As new capabilities such as elevated material planning, sourcing, costing and integrity are stood up across the materials supply chain, you will ensure that the foundational operating procedures are in place to unlock and elevate our materials capabilities. Supplier performance will need to rise at pace with the enabling programs and hit key preformance indicators generated collaboratively with the teams. Increasing amounts of data and performance metrics will become available and you must use strong analytical and storytelling skills to pull out key insights and weave them into strategies that shape and complement key transformational initiatives and your peer’s work across MSM.

Collaboration and influence across a broad network of partners will be key to success. Using prior manufacturing, logistics, finance and systems integration experience in a large, multi-node operating environment will be required. The ability to transform complex concepts into easy to understand action plans for senior management will be a significant aspect of the role.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

As a member of the Materials Operations Excellence leadership team you will work closely with the functional and product engine leaders in Materials Sourcing & Manufacturing. You will also have significant exposure to our business partners across NIKE’s Asia manufacturing base as well as world headquarters functions including Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, Materials Product Development and Sustainable Manufacturing and Sourcing.
