Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Statistics, Decision Science, Applied Math, Econometrics, Behavioral Science or other quantitative field.

5-6 years in people analytics, reporting, or advanced analytics teams
Comfort communicating and partnering with data analysts, product teams, engineers, and data scientists, as well as understanding and translating the science of analytics to a more general audience
Ability to understand sophisticated analytics topics and can translate them with data and stories into relevant business-impacting solutions to senior leaders and other business partners
Expertise in Python, R or other statistical programs
PhD or Masters with robust quantitative expertise
Expertise in a statistical programming language (e.g. R or Python) or willingness to expand your statistical toolset to these more scalable tools from SPSS or Stata.
Experience leading analysts in a team environment
Experience with agile development methodologies
Deep understanding of HR, People Analytics, or HR Technologies

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This role leads the strategy, design and delivery of a portfolio of employee listening and sensing programs and ties them to the wholistic program. We are on a journey to build out a world-class innovative program and this is an opportunity to build fast, from the ground up. Among the programs that may be assigned to this role’s portfolio are the following enterprise-wide survey programs: the full census Engagement and Org Effectiveness surveys, monthly Corporate Sampled Pulse, Deep Research Panel, Lifecycle survey program and Org and Team Diagnostic surveys. In addition, we will be standing up a separate program for our line organizations in retail, distribution center and manufacturing organizations in close collaboration with line leadership. As one of our first directors in this space, you will have the flexibility to shape your portfolio based on your interest and expertise!
The skills you will bring to this role need to include strong technical expertise in survey design, sampling, and analysis to provide reliable and valid insights to critical business issues. As this role is embedded in the People Research and Data Science team, we are particularly interested in those with strong quantitative research expertise including factor analysis, PCA, SEM, HLM, and longitudinal regression techniques. Our enterprise survey programs will be built on Qualtrics and familiarity or expertise with that platform is a plus. Basic knowledge of natural language processing and machine learning is not vital, but we plan to apply these skill sets to the listening program.
As the face of the program to senior leaders and partners, we are looking for someone with practiced skills in interacting with senior leadership. We also require the director to be highly skilled communicating quantitative insights to audiences of different levels of sophistication with research insights.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
In this role you will be responsible for a portfolio of listening and sensing programs, from collaboration with partners to assessing value and needs, to design, analysis and delivery. Your primary activities will be leading stakeholder management, program design and delivery of insights to executives, leaders, managers and athletes. Day-to-day data work such as survey administration, data manipulation and analysis will be done by survey analysts and a survey administrator.
You will also be an essential team member on the Governance Steering Committee, which governs then entirety of employee listening at Nike. You will represent PR&DS governance for your portfolio programs to shape and coordinate survey governance across NIKE, Inc.
Another emphasis for Nike’s Employee Listening programs will be to build for scale and productization. This will require you to be hands on in productization strategy in partnership with the Business Intelligence & Solutions team to integrate insights from your continuous listening programs into internal analytics products.
For example, you will collaborate on making insights from your programs part of attrition prediction models that show up inside of a variety of products from talent acquisition predictive pipelining, executive talent review scorecards, org effectiveness dashboards or nudging notifications for manager training etc. We are looking for someone who understands or is interested in learning the ins and outs of robustly integrating survey data sources with these sorts of algorithm and products.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This role sits on the People Research and Data Science team and reports directly to the Director of People Research and Data Science. Internal to the PR&DS team, you will work closely with the other employee listening managers and the survey analyst team to create a truly cohesive employee listening program whose sum is more that its parts. You will also work with our data science team to incorporate survey data into products and projects taking place on the research side of the team. This should provide you the opportunity to be involved in a broader set of research activities that blend survey data with other sources across the company.
Outside the PR&DS team you have your stakeholders in the business such as HR COEs, senior HRBPs and business leaders across the company. These will be some of your most important relationships to drive impact and satisfaction with your programs.
Additionally, you will be interacting with our BI&S partners within the People Analytics & Workforce Strategy team. They will provide critical technical support as the platform owners for Qualtrics.
