Given the market opportunity to advance cloud and digital transformation, Tek is seeking an experienced Director to lead the transformation to Cloud Applications and shift to cloud-first and cloud-next strategies. This role will focus on building an organization that partners closely with the business in the delivery of new cloud services and applications as well as transformations of existing services and applications from on-prem or legacy technology architectures to modern cloud-advantaged models.

This role will work closely with the CIO, to execute strategic shifts away from legacy IT services and on-prem applications towards forward-looking technical architectures including custom cloud application development with close partnerships with the business to deliver results.

  • Champions cloud-first and cloud-next strategies providing a vision for the business on leveraging modern, public-cloud architectures to drive performance, cost, agility, and customer delight in positive directions

  • Maintains responsibility for cloud application environments including, but not limited to, cloud provider relationships, DevSecOps, scale and resiliency architecture, integration layers, decoupled networked service architectures

  • Promotes and fosters talent development around value-adding cloud technologies and architectures

  • Partners with the business to deliver maintainable, differentiating functionality that supports both internal business process and external customer delight.

  • Promotes cloud architectures and software applications that enable highly autonomous teams and end-to-end ownership

  • Establishes a best-in-class application ecosystem that allows agile business decision making

  • Promotes an integration strategy that informs technical requirements for software commercial software system integrations as well as custom in-house applications

  • Capable of managing both internal and externally facing software applications and promotes high-quality software practices regardless of the audience

  • Identifies best architectural patterns and articulates benefits productively amongst the team and stakeholders to achieve and maintain appropriate buy-in

Pivotal Experience & Expertise

  • The ideal candidate is a customer focused and pragmatic leader with experience operating change management to usher an organization from long-running legacy technical architectures to modern architectures with the ability to clearly articulate benefits, understand business needs, and deliver value

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI is critical

  • The ideal candidate demonstrates a history of championing best-in-class cloud practices and can communicate cloud-native technical architectures

  • Understanding the roles of public and private clouds and how to effectively leverage the public cloud safely and securely with an appropriate risk analysis is key

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology or related function

  • AWS Certifications or similar technical certifications highly regarded
