Nike Apparel Designer I, Golf & Tennis in Beaverton, Oregon


  • Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design and 1-5 years' prior design work experience

  • Ability to apply and perform design skills such as: drawing/sketching, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing and scale, visual presentation development and layout

  • Familiarity with the Sport of Tennis and Golf including current trends, color and design

  • Basic knowledge of pattern making, draping, materials, trims, garment fit, garment construction, and manufacturing

  • Basic knowledge of the apparel industry, marketing principles, and development process

TENNIS/GOLF team is an organization that consists of multiple dimensions: Men’s to Women’s, Promo to Retail high profile sport apparel product.


We’re looking for a passionate Apparel Designer who has a focused interest in Tennis and Golf. Someone who loves performance product and design creatively, problem solving for our Athletes.


As our Apparel Designer I in Tennis & Golf, you'll design innovative apparel product with direction given from design leads, utilize design skills to create original, innovative designs that appropriately reflect Nike's design philosophy. You'll communicate design concepts effectively and present concepts within the Promo /Team/Licensing (PTL) Events Team. You'll prepare presentation materials that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences. You'll monitor the development of prototype samples and interact with development, pattern making, materials, apparel lab, field testing and the sample room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion of each project. You'll build awareness of current trends, color, technology and sports related products through research and travel. In addition, you'll provide design support for the senior designer as needed.


You'll work with the PTL Events Club Sport Design Director and each Sport Sr. Design Lead to actively gain experience, enhance design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes.

You'll also partner with cross-functional team members in Design (Apparel, Graphic and Color), Development and Product Management to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting athlete requirements and product creation timelines.
